This is a combination of treatments tailor made to suit you. The aim of it is to soothe away troubling emotions, replacing them with the feelings you want to have, feelings that will help you move forward in life.
Hypnotherapy
Your course of emotional healing therapy most often will involve hypnotherapy, because this is the most powerful way of creating the feelings you desire to have, and building on them so that they grow strong and real. (You can always choose not to include this aspect of the treatment but I advise that you give it at least a try).
Hypnotherapy is a completely safe treatment and anyone can go 'into hypnosis'. It is just a focused state of awareness and bodily relaxation that is used so I can help you tap into the feelings you want to have- feelings that are often burried under troubling emotions and/or stress conditions. Anyone can experience this focused state and be trained how to tap into desired feeling- states. Using light levels of hypnosis, you will access your own inner strength, confidence and joy, and be taught techniques to tap into these feelings at any time you wish- so that they grow stronger and any negative, troubling feelings grow weaker. This helps you to become the way you want to be- finding contentment within.
Higher Self Awareness Training
It also involves teaching you about the "Inner Self" (or Higher Self) which is simply you at your best, and the "Lower Self", which is unfortunately often the self we are most in tune with. The inner self is often hidden or burried underneath layers of troubling emotion and/or the stress of every-day life. The "lower self" is that voice in your mind that beats you up about things, that tells you you're 'no good' or that 'everything is going wrong' or that 'I'll never be able to ... x.' It's the part of you that catastrophises when you are stressed or anxious- the part that says 'what if...?' and then imagines the worst case scenarios. It is the part that thinks it has to be ready for things going wrong, so it stays in a highly alert, stressed out state. It's the part of you that we all have, that keeps us from experiencing the ease, natural calm and trusting nature of the Higher Self. There is nothing religious about this- I'm not about to spout any mumbo-jumbo. Your Higher Self is the part of you that's the 'real you'- the you that you feel when you do something you love, when you take a holiday, when you get away for however long from the every-day stresses that weigh you down. You might feel it when looking at a beautiful sunset, listening to ocean waves, when playing golf or taking part in sport of some kind.
Emotional Healing Therapy will teach you tools and techniques to not only access your Higher Self- the best of who you are and how you feel- but will also teach you how to stay in tune with it. You will be taught how to recognise when it's your lower self 'acting up' and you will be able to calm those troubling emotions with the 'tools of contentment you learn.' You will develop new habits of thinking, feeling and being through using these techniques that allow you to be happier and feel healthier- and to get through any difficult times with much more inner strength, calm and trust that everything will be all right- because you will no longer be fooled by the lower-self- you will know exactly what to do to stop those thoughts and soothe those feelings, and get yourself back to feeling the best of who you are.
Releasing Troubling emotions- finding inner peace
Emotional Healing Therapy will also teach you, if it's appropriate, how to feel and move through- and beyond- any troubling emotions that may be holding you back. A lot of emotions get 'stuck' because we are afraid to feel them fully- so we don't express them, and they have nowhere to go.
Please note that we will only do this aspect of Emotional Healing when you are feeling ready- you will never be made to face anything you're not yet ready to face. However, Emotional Healing Therapy provides for you a safe sanctuary in which you can feel your emotions... and in doing so, get them 'out', move through them... and find the true inner contentment that so often comes after letting go of troubling emotions.
Reiki
Another wonderful thing you can experience during your course of Emotional Healing Therapy is the healing energy of reiki. Again, you do not have to partake in this part of the therapy if you don't want to... but I can honestly say it is of great benefit if you do. You do not have to be religious or even spiritual to give it a go. Yes it is a 'healing energy' but even if you don't believe in such things, it will still work for you. It cannot do harm, simply because of its very nature. It is the energy of the life-force behind the universe, so it is always life enhancing. When using it for therapy, it is often very relaxing and calming, and is a wonderful and invaluable support in what I do to help you. It helps people to let go of troubling emotions more easily and painlessly. It helps people to relax and feel deeper peace than they thought they were capable of. It is comforting and supportive and can really help, if you decide to give it go, with the healing of troubling emotions. It works on the Higher Self- the best of who you are- and makes that stronger and more noticeable to you, by soothing away anything that prevents you from accessing your inner peace and contentment- often so burried that you can be unaware it's there. I will often use this in your therapy at the point when you feel ready to truly let go of what's been troubling you- to aid the process of emotional healing in order to help you feel in a more real and concrete way the inner peace and contentment that you can truly find within.
Tools of Contentment you will learn during Emotional Freedom Therapy
These 'tools of contentment' as I like to call them (because they help to soothe away troubling thoughts and emotions, allowing you to find contentment) are techniques you will be taught that you can use for the rest of your life in any situation you choose. Emotional Freedom Therapy focuses on creating what you want to feel and how you want to be... by removing any blocks that stand in the way... and by using hypnosis to access the good feelings and make them stronger. These tools are a big part of helping you towards being your best.
EFT: Emotional Freedom Technique is a simple but powerful technique that evolved from acupuncture but uses no needles. You simply learn a tapping procedure and then use two fingers to tap on the points you learn. The theory behind it is that negative emotions cause a blockage in the body's energy system, and the tapping releases the blocked energy and thus the troubling emotion also heals. I say, I don't know how or why it works, but it works and it works well. It is something you can use for the rest of your life on any troubling emotion or situation, to remove any blocks and give yourself the confidence, inner strength, happiness or whatever positive frame of mind and state of being you want, to deal with the situation in the best way you can. Anchoring: Anchoring is an NLP technique that allows you to access a positive feeling, make it stronger, and then apply it to situations in which you want to feel it. So if you feel anxious about something, we use anchoring to get you in touch with inner calm... and then when you are able to access it using the cue (which is usually a physical cue such as pressing a finger and thumb together) you can start to use the cue to bring forth the feelings when you need them.
Collapse anchoring: Once you have used anchoring a positive feeling and feel this is working well for you, you can use a collapse anchor, to 'collapse away' a negative feeling and then replace it with the positive feeling of your choice. This helps you to feel more in control, because often we can't stop negative feelings entering our body, but we can get rid of them.
Cognitive Techniques: These techniques will involve looking inwardly at your thoughts- we often have thousands of thoughts a day that pass through our minds unnoticed. When you focus on what you're thinking, you can change your thoughts, and this affects how you feel. You will be taught how to speak to yourself in your mind like you would do to a loved one- with praise and encouragement, comfort and reassurance. This helps you to feel better, stronger, happier. If you take on board these new mind skills, you will learn how to speak to yourself with the voice of your 'higher self'- the part that would never put you down or make you feel bad. This helps you to notice when your 'lower self' is talking, and to stop it in its tracks before it makes you feel bad. The more you do this, the weaker your lower self becomes, and the more you can feel the powerful, positive emotions of your higher self, that will allow you to handle anything life brings your way.
Self Hypnosis: If you want to be, you can be taught how to use light levels of hypnosis to help yourself access positive emotions, or to prepare for an upcoming event and feel the way you want to feel about it when the time comes. Hypnosis works by using the imagination to produce positive feelings, so unless you are a robot with no brain and no feelings, you can use hypnosis to help yourself build stronger the feelings you want to feel, in any situation you want to feel them in.
I want to free myself from limiting emotions and I've decided to try Emotional Healing Therapy
